Incorporating compliance rates into the cost of treatment HIV/AIDS in two African countries

Florence, Italy -- Josh Benner, PharmD, ScD, ValueMedics Principal, presented a poster co-authored with Russell Becker, M.A., ValueMedics Senior Research Manager titled, “Incorporating compliance rates into the cost of treatment HIV/AIDS in two African countries,” at the 8th Annual ISPOR European Congress.

This study estimated the net cost of treating HIV/AIDS in two countries, Uganda and South Africa, in light of reported compliance rates in each country. The results found that considering only first and second-line unit costs without including compliance rates does not accurately reflect overall drug treatment costs.
