Timothy W. Smith  |  Director, Informatics

Mr. Smith brings clients over fifteen years of information management and technology experience, including more that six years spent developing solutions for health economics and outcomes research clients in the pharmaceutical industry. As ValueMedics Research's Director of Informatics, Mr. Smith specializes in the optimal use of information, data, and knowledge in problem solving and decision making applications.

Mr. Smith’s recent project work includes development of economic models used to conduct budget impact, cost-effectiveness, and burden of illness analysis. These models are customized for their intended use which may include support for an Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) or value dossier, deployment in the field, or submission for publication. In addition, Mr. Smith is responsible for ValueMedics Research’s internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to quality assurance, model validation, and data security.

Before joining ValueMedics Research, Mr. Smith worked as an independent technology consultant. In this capacity he completed a number of successful research-oriented projects including economic models and web-enabled collaborative database applications. Prior to his consulting career, Mr. Smith was Director of Information Technology for Zurich Reinsurance Centre in New York, NY, where he was responsible for all facets of collaborative computing including applications development, infrastructure management and end user support. Mr. Smith began his career at General Electric Capital Corporation (GECC).

Mr. Smith received his BA degree in mathematical economics from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. He is also a graduate of General Electric's Information Systems Management Program (ISMP).
