Shibani joined ValueMedics as a Health
Economics Manager in January 2006. Prior to joining ValueMedics
Research LLC, Shibani was in a 2-year Duke-Novartis post-graduate
health economics fellowship program.
In
the Health Economics & Outcomes Research Group at Novartis Pharmaceuticals,
she managed a variety of projects to support the dermatology and
respiratory therapeutic areas. Those projects have included retrospective
database analyses, cost-effectiveness analyses, survey design, managed
care dossiers and reimbursement models. As part of the fellowship,
Shibani spent a year at the Duke Center for Clinical and Genetic
Economics, where her research focused on estimating the burden of
osteoarthritis from a large internet-based survey of osteoarthritis
patients, and comparison of treatment side effects.
Shibani’s
interests lie in developing managed care relevant tools to communicate
health economics research. She has worked in the design, application,
training and publication of budget impact models and prior authorization
calculators as well as the development of managed care dossiers and
tool kits. Shibani has presented her research at several conferences
including the American Academy of Dermatology, American Thoracic
Society, Society for Medical Decision Making, and the International
Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research.
Shibani
received her Master’s degree in Public Health with a focus in Health Management from the Yale School of Public Health and the Yale School of Management. Her thesis work involved the economical evaluation of a novel smoking cessation treatment under development. She earned her BS with Honors, in Life Sciences and Biochemistry from St. Xavier’s
College in Bombay, India. |
